Quick answer

How do I create a QR code for free?

Pick what the QR code should open, such as a link, UPI payment or Wi-Fi network, fill in the details, and download the code as a PNG or SVG. Codes made with this free QR code generator never expire, because the information is stored in the pattern itself, not on a server.

  • UPI: scan-to-pay with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and other UPI apps
  • Wi-Fi: guests join without typing the password
  • SVG: stays sharp at any print size

What kinds of QR code can you make?

Choose a tab, fill in the details and the free QR code updates straight away.

  • Link: a QR code for a link to your website, menu, form or profile. If you leave out “https://”, the generator adds it.
  • UPI: a scan-to-pay code for your UPI ID, with an optional amount and note.
  • Wi-Fi: a Wi-Fi QR code with your network name, password and security type (WPA, WEP or none), including hidden networks.
  • Text, email and phone: plain text up to 1,000 characters, a ready-to-send email with subject and message, or a number to call.

You can pick the colour and background, set error correction from Low (7%) to Highest (30%), and download a PNG at 512, 1,024 or 2,048 px, or an SVG for print.

How do you make a UPI QR code?

Choose UPI and enter your UPI ID, such as name@okbank, and the name payers should see. The generator checks that the ID looks valid. Add an amount, such as ₹499, if every payer should pay the same; it is written as 499.00. Leave it blank for a reusable code. Before you print it, scan it with another phone and send yourself ₹1 to test it.

Why do these QR codes never expire?

This QR code generator makes static codes. Your link, UPI ID or Wi-Fi details are stored in the pattern itself, so nothing depends on a server or a subscription. The code works for as long as the link or UPI ID behind it works. The trade-off is that you can’t edit a static code later. If your details change, make a new one and replace the old print.

How do I make sure my QR code scans?

  • Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background works best
  • Print at least 2 × 2 cm, larger for posters scanned from a distance
  • Leave the white border (quiet zone) around the code
  • Test with two different phones before printing in bulk

Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up. The QR codes never expire, because the link or details are stored inside the code itself rather than on a server.

How do I make a UPI QR code for payments?

Choose UPI, enter your UPI ID (such as name@okbank) and your name, and optionally an amount and note. Download the QR code and anyone can scan it with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or any UPI app to pay you.

How do I share my Wi-Fi with a QR code?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password, and print or display the code. Guests scan it with their phone camera to join without typing the password.

Which download format should I use?

Use PNG for sharing on phones and documents, and SVG for printing on posters or menus, because SVG stays sharp at any size.

What does error correction mean?

Higher error correction lets the code still scan if part of it is dirty, damaged or covered by a logo, but it makes the pattern denser. Medium suits most uses.

Can I add a fixed amount to a UPI QR code?

Yes. Enter an amount and it is filled in for the payer, written with two decimals such as 499.00. Leave it blank for a reusable code where each payer types the amount.

Can a QR code hold Hindi text or emoji?

Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8, so Hindi, other Indian scripts and emoji work. They take more space than plain English, so the pattern becomes denser.
